Kingsport man arrested after trying to save 'dying' woman

Dec. 13

— A woman called police about an incident that occurred two days earlier, when her vehicle got stuck in the snow. Two people had stopped and said they would assist her, with one of the apparent Good Samaritans getting in her car. They didn't get her vehicle out of the snow, but she later discovered her credit car was missing. It had since been used at four different locations.

Dec. 14

— An assault was reported at Phipps Bend Industrial Park. According to the victim, when she arrived to work she was confronted by another woman, then had her hair pulled and was hit multiple times. The incident was reportedly "over a male subject."

— A woman told police that after becoming acquainted with a man on Facebook, she agreed to meet him and go to his home. He allegedly began drinking and "tried to force himself on her," then pointed a rifle and threatened to fire. She escaped his residence and dialed 911, but police were unable to make contact with the suspect. A warrant was issued for aggravated assault.

Dec. 14

— On Stonegate Road, an officer spotted a suspicious man repeatedly picking up a bag and placing it back on the ground. When asked what he was doing, he exclaimed, "There's a lady dying in this house down here," then ran to a nearby home and tried to kick in the door. When police spoke with the resident they found no emergency, while the man stated "God told him" to make the claim. He then admitted to doing meth earlier in the day and was arrested on several charges, including making a false police report.

Dec. 16

— An officer on West Stone Drive heard gunshots coming from Rain Night Life, then found shell casings in the parking lot of the nightclub. Security said the rounds had been fired into the sky by an individual in a Cadillac, with the car then leaving the scene. No one was injured.

Dec. 18

— A robbery was reported at the Super 8 in Lynn Garden. According to the complainant, while "hanging out" in his room with an unknown man, the visitor began punching him and stole keys to his truck. The suspect then fled in his Toyota Tacoma and could not immediately be located.

Dec. 19

— In the parking lot of Walgreens on West Stone Drive, an officer observed a motorist driving through the parking lot on two flat tires, causing damage to the rims. When asked what he was doing, the driver stated driving to get air in his tires, then complied with the officer's command to stop in a spot. An odor of marijuana was emitting from the car, while a consent search located a baggie of pot and several different types of pills. The driver also performed poorly on sobriety tests, netting his arrest on charges of DUI and drug possession.
